Allison Justice, Ph.D.

Biography: Allison Justice graduated from Clemson University with a Ph.D. in Plant and Environmental Science. Justice’s dissertation involved investigating the effects of a beneficial mycorrhizal type organism (Piriformospora india), where she learned that organic, sustainable growing can be easy, cost-effective, and produce aesthetically pleasing plants when done properly. Dr. Justice has been VP of Cultivation for OutCo, a vertically integrated cannabis producer in San Diego, CA, for almost three years. During this time, Justice partnered with OutCo to create a hemp CBD extraction facility in her home state of South Carolina. Here, Justice’s family owns and operates a 40-acre hemp farm.

Dr. Justice has been a member of the California Industrial Hemp Advisory Board helping to advise policy and regulation for the California Industrial Hemp Program for almost two years. In 2017, Justice was named one of the top “”40 Under 40 in Cannabis”” by Marijuana Venture Magazine and one of Dope Magazine’s Four Dope Women. In 2018, City Beat’s named Justice one of “San Diego’s Most Important People.” Through research and education, Justice is elevating the standards of cannabis and hemp cultivation both indoors/greenhouse and in the field
