9:00 am – 5:00 pm – Dr. John MacKay’s Institute of Extraction Technology: Tour Edition (Additional Fee Required for Certification)

The extraction market has changed in the last year while we were indoors. There are more extraction technologies available than there were in 2019. The processes involve more chemistry and physics. To provide a meaningful impact on your business in the shortest amount of time has resulted in three new courses on practical extraction.

To maximize your time, we have made some significant changes to the courses. The first is to limit the number of attendees at each session to 16. The second is the inclusion of more hands-on activities for extraction and analyses. The third is always tying these principles to have a return on investment in less than one week. Coming away with an understanding of the impact your extraction decisions have on your capital and operating costs is the goal. The measurable impact is the goal.

In this presentation, you’ll hear how a medical cannabis physician managed/treated his first COVID-19 patient with phytocannabinoids, plant medicine, vitamins and minerals and “conventional medicine”, what lessons were learned and what opportunities presented themselves post-COVID-19.

The Institute of Extraction Technology offers two certifications for this training location.
  • One Day without a test for competency: Certificate of Attendance for Merging Business and Science of Extraction
  • One Day with a test for competency: Certificate of Attendance and Passing Competency Test

Seating capacity is limited to 16 students. Actual extraction will be done onsite as well as cannabinoid testing. For more information on pricing and to reserve a spot, go to the Institute of Extraction Technology website.

10:15 am – 11:00 am – How Much is Right for You: The Science of CBD Dosing

One of the challenges in the emerging CBD market is the lack of robust clinical research that can be used to guide dosing guidelines. This is especially problematic in people with comorbidities or on other medications who would like to explore taking these products medicinally too. Even so, crowdsourcing the anecdotal data has allowed companies to review by developing a functional measure of how much CBD is needed for different conditions. This system, albeit lacking in strong foundations in clinical trials, in some ways is good enough. But when it comes to a product we want to promote as medication, we have a responsibility to produce real data from which to work off of.

2:30 pm – 3:15 pm – Dueling Panel: The Delta 8 Showdown

Delta 8 is great or Delta 8 is taint?! Join this much anticipated panel consortium to hear the evidence and the arguments for and against D8. Is it safe or unsafe? Should it be legal or illegal?

The hot cannabinoid of the moment is Delta-8 THC. It’s a psychoactive compound—as in, it gets you high—that’s legal in most states. Or, if not legal, then at least widely available. It’s in a bit of a gray area.

The structure of the law—everything hemp is legal except THC—created what’s seen by many producers as a loophole that allows the production and sale of Delta-8 THC, because it’s ever-so-slightly chemically distinct from the banned Delta-9 THC.

You be the judge as these panels duel it out!
