The CBD Expo Tour
Must be 21+ to enter the exhibit floor
October 11-12, 2019
Colorado Convention Center
Powered by CBD Health and Wellness Magazine, CBD Expo MOUNTAIN 2019 is the original CBD event platform to broadcast your products with the community and share your CBD knowledge with the industry. We focus on targeting the relevant and right people to be in the right place creating a quality show floor that business can be conducted on. This event will feature around 200 exhibitors, along with a substantial lineup of speaker presentations and panel discussions from experts in research, holistic medicine, distribution, compliance, regulation, and investment of CBD and cannabinoid products. In our constant effort to provide fresh, relevant, and original content we make sure there are no repeat presentations from past Expos.
As more countries legalize a robust cannabis and CBD marketplace, the global trade of this commodity grows. Some countries have legalized cultivation for the express purpose of exportation! As this international driving force for industry gains momentum, let us take a pause and ponder what effects this Globalization will have on our budding cannabis industry. We may see the creation of multinational corporations, who will seek to evolve as large and complex a growing and distribution network as possible. Or, in the vein of the free spirit of the plant, we may discover that the industry remains true to its roots and favors grassroots, “microbrew” production systems.

Where the focus was once only on varieties high in THC, we are now moving into an era where CBD-rich and CBD-dominant options are no longer rare or even uncommon. Generating these full-spectrum extracts is therefore a valid option for almost any extraction facility. When doing so, the standard operating procedures will have to be slightly modified to account for the differences in boiling points between the two cannabinoids. Likewise, crystallizing CBD will require different oven tech than what has been done up until now. Come learn more about why generating specialty CBD formulations may be right for you.
It is no secret that the over-prescription of opioid medications, particularly OxyContin™, has led to a national crisis which has come to be known as the Opioid Epidemic. Prompted by monetary incentives, physicians were encouraged to prescribe this more addictive form of pain relief that was otherwise necessary or available. What can we in the cannabis field do to help bring this outbreak under control? Most long-term opioid users really do want to stop. So, we can recommend to them CBD, which has been shown to help reduce the dependency on opioids in chronic pain patients.
We waited for it for a long time, and now it’s finally here: The ability to legally grow hemp. It was hailed as the beginning of a golden era for hemp and cannabis. It has now been almost a year since it was passed, and a good time to reflect on how our world has changed because of it. Our panelists will discuss what opportunities they believed this legislation has provided to cultivators and manufacturers of hemp and cannabis products. Not just consumables for medicinal or recreational purposes, but also the larger array of hemp-derived consumer products which we have been excited about for so long.
A whole science exists which quantifies the different ways in which drugs interact with our bodies. Pharmacokinetics (PK) quantifies where we can find a drug from the moment it’s ingested, to the moment it is gone. Summarized by the neat acronym ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Excretion), PK tells us how much of the compound reaches the target tissue. In the case of cannabinoids, this may be the central nervous system, the GI tract, nerve endings, or cutaneous vasculature. These parameters are separate from Bioactivity, determined by the branch called Pharmacodynamics, which tells us how much a targeted receptor or signaling system is influenced in the presence of the drug that’s there.
Ever since the Obama-era Cole Memo was announced, which essentially green lighted the creation of a CBD industry across state lines, companies have been walking a fine line with the Food and Drug Administration. Even though they are adjoined from outright enforcement, several times in the past few years the FDA has gone after companies selling CBD products in grocery stores or online. One of their main grievances has been the mixing of CBD into food and drink; the regulation of CBD-infused alcoholic drinks being another matter. We will educate you on how the FDA can get away with telling us what to do.
The once niche field of CBD products has exploded into a thriving global market with high demand. Entrepreneurs seeking to expand their reach have turned to social media networks such as LinkedIn and Instagram to expand their professional reach, and those have proven useful strategies in enlisting both new clients and new contacts. Finding high-yield ways to publicize your presence include unique branding, attending trade shows, and an online presence. As with any field, stretch and expand your collective network by working alongside other industry leaders who came before, and by collaborating with leaders in other industries.
In CBD Training Academy programs, you will learn everything you need to know about CBD, including the medical science, clinical studies, dosing, methods of administration, finance, marketing, business development, regulations, strategy and so much more.
This presentation break's down Chip's "1,2,3" method of understanding the human endocannabinoid system. Chip introduces the ECS, provides background on its evolution, and vitality, as well as educating on the role it plays as regulator among other systems. The presentation includes national and international research and trends. Mr. Paul educates on ECS modulation through non-cannabis plants as well as targeted cannabinoid modulation.
One of the challenges in the emerging CBD market is the lack of robust clinical research that can be used to guide dosing guidelines. This is especially problematic in people with comorbidities or on other medications who would like to explore taking these products medicinally too. Even so, crowdsourcing the anecdotal data has allowed companies to develop a functional measure of how much CBD is needed for different conditions. This system, albeit lacking in strong foundations in clinical trials, in some ways is good enough. But when it comes to a product we want to promote as medication, we have a responsibility to produce real data from which to work off of.
Since the rise of counter-culture movements in the 1960’s, cannabis use has been strongly correlated with the so-called hippie movement, including new-age medicinal practices. But truly, cannabis has been a part of holistic medicine for far longer than that, dating back all the way to Ayurvedic India almost 3,000 years ago. In today’s age, we have identified the cannabinoids as the main chemical constituents responsible for cannabis’s effect. CBD in particular, due to its lack of psychoactive side-effects, is being singled out due to its high tolerability in patients. This makes its isolates a prime candidate for co-treatment in holistic medicine regimes.
With more and more people taking medications to treat chronic pain and inflammatory conditions, it is essential that the cannabinoid pharmacophores be researched as a potential addition to the arsenal of available medications. CBD was shown to have activity against cells of the immune system, including reduced expressions of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the reduction in proliferation of antibody-producing plasma cells. These effects taken together could potentiate an anti-inflammatory process, leading to a blocking off of the pain at its source and not just masking its symptoms. We believe this activity can be exploited in the setting of chronic pain management and potentially other uses as well.
The endocannabinoid system, or ECS, is a biological system composed of lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors. The ECS has important physiological functionality not only in the central nervous system (CNS) but also in peripheral tissues, including nerve fibers, the GI tract, adipocytes and muscle tissue. The structure of endocannabinoids are similar to that of phytocannabinoids, therefore learning more about the ECS informs us as to the mechanism by which THC and CBD exert their physiological effects. We will be discussing the implications of recent research on the way that we view these effects and the physical and cognitive actions that are not thought to be influenced by the ECS.
Even those who are only minimally involved in the cannabis community know one thing about CBD: It is not a psychoactive drug. It is the main point that distinguishes CBD from its cousin THC, and allows it to be sold internationally and over state lines. Even states that have a 0.3% tolerance for THC will still allow CBD in any quantity to be sold and processed, because the scientific and medical communities have recognized there are no cognitive, and very little conceivable physiological, side effect possibilities. We will provide the tools you need to facilitate a calm, fact-based discussion on these issues with those who may still need to see the light.

Celeste....thank you again for your great hospitality. You run a first rate operation. A few people I asked to meet me while I was there are now planning on getting into CBD with their products after they saw your show. I also had one of the largest distributors of candy and snacks fly in from Canada and he sees the great potential as well. We hope to show at an upcoming event of yours as we made some key connections for suppliers.
